It is no wonder our southernmost state is known for its rugged wilderness and verdant natural beauty; Tasmania has almost 45% of its small space covered in heritage listed spots, national parks, and reserves – giving it the reputation of being an incredibly beautiful place to explore the natural environment. For those who love to discover new and exciting places, while also love getting the adrenalin pumping, our Dove Canyon Experience truly offers them a way to see what Tassie has to offer.

Found only a 2.5-hour drive from the city of Launceston, the Dove River surrounds Cradle Mountain – one of Tasmania’s prime attractions. Here the group will spend 6-8 hours unconventionally exploring the canyon, traversing lesser touched areas with their multi-award winning guides over the full day.

Being an all action adventure, this experience is not for the faint hearted! Their adrenalin filled day includes hiking; abseiling down steep and stunning canyons; jumping over waterfalls into crisp Tassie waters; swimming in gorgeous rock pools; sliding down natural rock waterslides; all based around the 50-metre quartzite Dove Canyon. Included in their day is a delicious gourmet lunch, full of delectable goodies, warm drinks and even chocolate!

Our Tasmanian adventure requires no previous experience, but those coming along do need to be physically fit enough to perform the above, and must be able to swim. But most importantly, they need to have a love of adventure! A challenge for both body and mind, this adventure is rewarding and above all, fun. All safety gear is provided by the experience provider, including a wetsuit, a helmet and a buoyancy vest for those waterfall jumps!

Starting at the beginning of November and finishing at the end of April each year, this tour runs every day to maximise the warmer seasons.
