Yarra Valley Tandem Weekend Skydive, VIC

Known for its delicious wines and stunning countryside, the range and rolling hills of vineyards in the Yarra Valley are something truly magnificent… and tandem skydiving from 14,000ft overhead; witnessing not only the incredible scenery below, but also all the way to the Melbourne cityscape, is something seriously unique. Our Yarra Valley Weekend Tandem Skydive gives one guy the opportunity to make the jump with Australia’s best tandem instructors, from Australia’s highest tandem skydiving altitude, over some of Victoria’s most beautiful countryside.

Take off and set down will be from Lilydale Airport in gorgeous Lilydale. The town is just 45 minutes driving from Melbourne, and there is the option of taking a free return transfer from St Kilda or Melbourne, provided by the experience provider – a seat on this transfer must be booked ahead. His journey will then begin with his very own safety briefing, and meeting his tandem instructor, who will be with him all the way from start to finish.

The plane will set off into the Yarra Valley skies – making its way to 14,000 feet over picturesque scenery below. Once at the maximum height and the adrenalin has most certainly built, his instructor will begin the countdown to the big jump – then leaping out of the plane, freefalling for a whopping 60 seconds at 200km/h, before relaxing into 5-7 minutes of blissful floating under the parachute canopy, all the way back down to earth.

His Yarra Valley tandem skydive will include:

- One tandem skydive leaving Lilydale or either a Saturday or Sunday

- Return pickup option from Melbourne or St Kilda upon reservation

- A certificate of achievement with his name on it, a bumper sticker, and a loyalty card

- Australian Parachute Federation 3-month membership

Some tips and rules for the perfect day

- Loose clothing and sneakers are best for comfort and safety, but jumping pants will be given on the day. Warm gear is available for the chillier days

- He should not scuba dive within 24 hours before the dive, and should stay away from the alcohol or drugs within 8 hours before

- He must be over 12 years of age

- For the fellow over 95kg, he will incur a surcharge, and over 110kg will need to undergo an assessment

- Lastly, he may have to wait a little while on the day if the weather isn’t perfect
