During a time that is often associated with craziness, help him get creative instead over this festive season with our Christmas Sweets cooking class experience. He and his classmates will be guided by a passionate instructor; patient and experienced in teaching the art of desserts, where they will create two incredible and impressive sweets – and what’s more, the skills learned in this class are transferrable and will extend far beyond the festive season to inspire a large array of various cookie and cake creations. This 7-hour comprehensive course is designed to be a fun, interactive and hands-on experience, where students don’t just help out the teacher, but actually create their own sweets, that they can then take home to enjoy!
When they arrive, participants will be given their very own apron and recipe book to use throughout their experience, and will be able to take with them to recreate in the comfort of their own kitchen. Using the best quality ingredients available, over the course of the day, the class will produce a gorgeous ginger Christmas House, and a Buche de Noel – a chocolate French Christmas sweet shaped like a log – both from scratch!
When creating their Christmas House, participants will first learn how to put together a traditional ginger dough mixture, make both white and coloured Royal icing to decorate their house, before being taught how to put it all together to complete the finished product. Once it is time to whip up their French inspired Christmas log, or Buche de Noel, students will learn the tricks to chocolate biscuits from scratch (always a handy skill!), along with a fruit jelly and chocolate mousse filling. After putting it all together, they will decorate the outside of their log using a coloured glaze to finish it all off.
