He will join a small group of others in learning the art to tapas treats, from creating to plating before feasting on their efforts over BYO drinks and with their new found friends, located just minutes from Brisbane CBD!



He and his classmates will be taken on a Spanish journey – delving deep into the tradition that is Spanish tapas, those small but delicious plates of amazing flavours and fresh ingredients, with the purpose of sharing with family and friends while drinking, chatting and enjoying each other. Our Spanish Tapas cooking adventure is led by an experienced and passionate chef, who will take students on a journey of the rich tradition and history steeped in Spanish food culture, before delving into techniques for preparing, cooking, styling, plating and presenting their dishes.

Once he arrives at his Brisbane location (only minutes from the CBD), he and his classmates will be welcomed with an apron and recipes, along with a delicious plate of pre-prepared bites to enjoy together and chat before they head into their class. Designed to be a fun and interactive learning space, students will be placed into small groups where they will work together to create their dishes, as well as watch demonstrations by the chef for certain creations.

Their sample menu includes:

- Water biscuit bark (or Toro’s Ears) complete with saffron and black pepper;

- Spiced butterbean puree with chorizo gravel and truffle oil;

- Porcini and chorizo croquette with a mayonnaise flavoured with verjuice and saffron;

- Spanish belly complete with gorgeous crackling, served on a bed of roasted vegetables and paprika spiced puree and;

- A Catalan custard tart with a dollop of vanilla, sugar nests spun perfectly, and a flaming orange brandy (which is optional).

Spanish tapas are known for being ‘real food’; fresh ingredients that take advantage of local and seasonal goods. So in sticking with the tapas philosophy, this sample menu is subject to change at the discretion of the experience provider, so they can ensure they are providing the freshest seasonal goodies to create amazing flavours.

After they have made magic in the kitchen, students are able to enjoy the fruits of their labour with a tapas feast of their creations – and with BYO drinks encouraged, they can really do it like the Spanish and wash it down with a delicious wine, and with some new found friends!
