This experience includes; a 2-day entry to the Werribee Open Range Zoo situated 35 kilometres west of Melbourne; overnight glamping style accommodation; a range of close encounters with incredible African animals (think rhinos, zebras, lions, hippos, giraffes and more!) during a 60 minute off-road family friendly safari and other various activities and viewings; delicious African inspired dinner, a buffet breakfast, and other snacks; discount vouchers for the zoo shop (15%) and extra animal encounters (20%); all coming together to form a truly unforgettable, fully hosted, Slumber Safari experience!
The scrumptious dinner will be followed by night time activities including a night walk, amongst others, only to be finished off with scones with jam and cream, and the toasting of marshmallows – which no camp is ever complete without!
Glamping, or glamourous/luxury camping, is one of those unique experiences we all have to try at least once! And what better way for him to try it out than when he is enjoying the African wild? With the lodges’ designs inspired by nature; they will sleep on beds, have their own private en-suite, along with their own private balcony overlooking the Werribee River and the savannah to get that little bit of reflective privacy in which is already a small group – there are only 8 lodges in total. There is both a fan for the heat, or an electric blanket for the cold, depending on when he chooses to take his wild adventure.
After waking to the beautiful sounds of nature, a buffet breakfast for all to enjoy will be served in the Safari Dining Lodge, where he can admire the animals below going about their morning business! This Slumber Safari adventure can be enjoyed regardless of weather conditions, and is available 3 nights per week, with extra nights available during school holidays!
With the safari tents able to host up to 5 people, he can head over in a group if he desires. There are monthly adults only nights available, too – so he can get a break from the kids if needs be! This is something he can discuss when making all arrangements directly with the experience provider.

- Entry to the zoo is available from 9am and 'check in' is from 2:45pm with activities commencing at 3.20pm
- Activities on day 2 conclude at 11:30am
- This experience can be affected by inclement weather, animal welfare issues or insufficient bookings. In the unlikely event of extreme adverse weather conditions, you will be contacted and rescheduled by the experience provider.
- All participants must agree to follow the keeper's instructions.
- A paying adult must accompany children under 16 years old.
- 1adult:2children supervision is required for children under 8 years, 1adult:1child supervision is required for children between 8-15years old.
