Our Food Tour of Melbourne & Dining at Pastuso Restaurant Package for 10 people truly showcases some of the best cuisine Melbourne has to offer – making it understandable the Victorian city is often declared the cultural capital of Australia. The group will not only dine at one of the best Peruvian restaurants in the country, but also meander through the side streets of the city, tasting bits and pieces along the way. The tour will be done on foot, and will last for around 4 hours inclusive of everything.

For the group of 10, they will meet their experienced foodie guide at Federation Square, and begin their tour wandering through the arcades, laneways and alleys of Melbourne city, stumbling upon hidden gems. Along the way, the group will stop for tastings at the Spring Street Grocery, Ganache Chocolate, Maxim’s Bakery and Gewurzhaus Spice Store – sampling chocolate, cheese, and more.

Next, their guide will walk them down the street-art-adorned, AC/DC Lane to enjoy a full sit-down meal at Pastuso Restaurant. Upon entry, they will be transported to Peru, starting with their very own included Pisco Sour – Peru’s national cocktail. The group will be given their own private dining room to enjoy chef Alejandro Saravia’s creative Peruvian menu – showcasing flavours from all over Peru – from the Andes to the coast, and the jungle. His wide ranging experience from America, Europe, South America and Australia comes out in his fabulous food, partly inspired by his own grandmother’s recipes.

First on the menu is ruby red snapper cerviche, cured in lemon juice. This will be served with cancha (Peruvian toasted corn), and caramelised sweet potato. Next is mouth-watering beef loins and fish skewers, complete with grilled veggies and a sauce of aji amarillo (Peruvian chilli type) and huactay (Peruvian ‘black mint’).

For the main course, the group will enjoy a ½ chicken, roasted and smoked, served with sides of roasted beetroot and heirloom tomatoes, complete with Andean pesto, whipped fetta, and fried cassava chips with their very own spict rocoto (Peruvian chilli type) mayonnaise to dip. A glass of wine for each guest will be included throughout the meal, but they can certainly purchase extra drinks if required.

This unique gift experience for 10 people is a beautiful way to explore Melbourne’s multi-cultural cuisine – sampling the lesser known Peruvian delights of Alejandro’s menu. Men’s Gift Store experience vouchers are redeemable directly with the experience provider with full details provided upon purchase. Recipients have 3 years to use the full value of the voucher.
